The architecture integrates WebRTC for ultra-low-latency media exchange, ensuring conversations feel natural without lag or echo. XMPP signaling via Ejabberd manages instant call setup, participant presence, and session synchronization, enabling users to connect quickly and switch devices without disruption.
Along with this, the Janus media servers handle media routing and processing within Kubernetes-managed clusters, allowing automatic scaling during peak traffic and preventing call drops when thousands of users connect simultaneously.
STUN/TURN servers guarantee reliable NAT traversal, ensuring calls connect even behind corporate firewalls or restricted networks. Plus, the Redis caching accelerates authentication and session retrieval, reducing wait times, while RabbitMQ messaging ensures notifications, call events, and background workflows execute reliably without interrupting live sessions.
The solution supports 1:1 and group calls, video conferencing, screen sharing, call recording, unlimited file sharing, video frame capture, and real-time analytics through detailed call logs and metadata giving businesses complete visibility and control. In addition to this, adaptive bitrate streaming further minimized the video freezes even on low-bandwidth networks giving a complete video calling experience to users.
The backend services with Spring boot communicate through secure RESTful APIs. This reduces the delay and wait-times for users in the meeting. Importantly, every conversation is protected by JWT authentication and AES 256-bit encryption to safeguard sensitive data.
