Overview

Surge is a static web publishing platform built for front-end developers, designed to deploy projects directly from the command line. It aims to make shipping web projects fast, easy, and low risk by removing the friction of traditional deployment workflows — developers can publish a project in seconds by typing surge in their project directory and hitting enter, with no configuration required.

Every deployment includes free custom domain support, free SSL on surge.sh subdomains, pushState support for single-page apps, and custom 404 pages. Surge integrates with existing build toolchains, including Grunt, Gulp, npm scripts, Git hooks, Jekyll, and other static site generators, and works with CI services like Travis CI and CircleCI. Teams can add collaborators through the CLI, and custom domains can be connected at no cost via a CNAME record.
